I, Daniel Blake

Key elements of an independent film Independent films have a small budget and often have to be funded by multiple companies. Most of the time they do not contain big stars. The films can be found online most of the time as they are hardly shown in the cinema. They tend to have open ending and contain a deeper meaning. Who is the director and what type of films does he make? The director of the film is Ken Loach, an English film maker. He is known to create films that reflect social issues and promoting social change. I, Daniel Blake is a drama set in Newcastle about a man who has suffered a heart attack and has been advised to stay off work however to get benifits he has to travel thought the Uk, when he is in a job center he meets a women and they become friends so they both don't end up homeless. Is the film low or high budget? The film had a low budget but for an independent film it was high, of 12.5 million however this was partly because it was funded by the BFI Which companie

Radio Industry: Initial

  Radio 1 Radio one has a younger target audience compared to the other radio stations with a target audience of men and women under the age of 29, this is because it contains pop music which mainly a younger audience would listen too. We can also tell its aimed at a younger audience as it contains a writing competition for 'young writers'.  The station is inclusive and is aimed at both men and women, we can see it is aimed at men as it contains things that men would be interested in such as 'match of the day' and it contains things women might be interested in such as the 'di salon' podcast for people interested in hair dressing. Radio 3 Radio 3 is aimed for an older audience around the age of 20-30 . This is because the music genre played on the radio is classical. Radio Industry Research Task

   Summarise what    podcasting   is and the ways it is different from traditional radio broadcasting for the producers and the audience. Consider the  platforms u sed to promote and deliver podcasts and find a couple of examples. Podcasting is online demand talk radio, you can use a podcast anywhere and can find a podcast on any topic you are interested in from comedy to news. You can access a podcast from apps available on phones for example iphone has its own podcast app. One difference between a podcast and a traditional radio broadcast is that podcast tend to target a niche audience as they tend to focus on a specific topic unlike a radio broadcasting service where they tend to target a mass audience by playing trending songs that the wider audience would enjoy. Another significant difference is that a podcast is pre recorded which gives the person recording time to edit things out if they made a mistake whereas a radio broadcast is recorded live where they cannot cover up mistake
