 Format of the show

Late Night Women's Hour is a podcast on BBC Radio 4  and a spin off 

Temes on Late Night Women's Hour

There are many themes on the podcast that women can relate to and find interesting, such as 'Not wanting children' this is a topic many young women (25-35) can relate to as that is something they might be considering with their partner. There is also a topic on Love Island that many women would be interested in as it is a big show about love and relationships.

Structure and content of typical episodes ( interviews, feature pieces, discussion , phone-in , etc.)

Each episode lasts between 9-30 minutes long. Each episode contains a special guest that have a good idea about the topic that is getting spoken about or someone that can relate to the topic, for example on the episode of grief one of the guest was 'writer Ambreen Razia' who was grieving for the loss of her mum.

Target audience

The target audience of Late Night Women's Hour are middle class women around the age of 35 and above, however some of the topics presented on the show could be aimed at a younger audience for example on the show there is a show about Love Island where a younger target audience would be more interested in than older women. The women who watch the show are highly educated. Even thought the majority of the listeners are women some of the listeners are men, this can be seen by one of the topics on the show are 'male and female friendships' which can be relatable for both men and women.

How does Late Night Women's hour fit into Radio 4's overall target audience

Late night women's hour fits in well with Radio 4's overall target audience as Radio 4 has an average target audience of 35  and above and Late Night Women's Hour has a very similar target audience with women aged 35 and above. However Late Night Women's Hour is more targeted at women which is the opposite of radio 4's overall target audience which is more targeted at males.

PRESENTER 

The presenter of Late night women’s hour when it was first aired was presented by Lauren Laverne who is a white women and age the time she was in her late 30s.. She is known to be and English television presenter, radio dj and used to be a lead singer in a rock band. The show is now presented by Emma Barnett who is a 36 year old white women. She has been the presenter of the show since the 4th of January 2021. She has had a broadcasting Carrer for a long time and started her Carrer as a digital media editor for the daily telegraph
