Key sequence

·       At the start of the sequence there is a cut scene and dialogue to set the mood and tone for the game. ·       When the game actually starts there is a task on the left side of the screen for the player to know what they need to complete in order to get onto the next level ·       There is also a health bar in the top left for the person to see how long they have to live, and the health bar goes down when you get injured ·       There is also a timer to show the player how long they have to complete the tasks given ·       There is also a distance tracker to tell the player how far they are away from the task they need to complete ·       There is a map to show the player where they are and to help them find where they’re going ·       When the avatar changes from a person to a ship the game gives you tips on how to fights for battle and how to control the ship ·       There is lense flair to make the game look like a movie to engage the audience more ·        
Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag- Case Study ·       Consider they key games of the franchise Ownership and Franchise Assassins Creed is an open-world action adventure stealth video game franchise owned by the French video game company Ubisoft and it was developed in Ubisoft’s studio. The first release date was November 13 th 2007 (Assassin’s Creed) and the latest game release was November 10 th 2020 (Assassin’s Creed Valhalla). The franchise as a whole has 11 main games in total and they all are set in an open world in the form of a third person perspective. The franchise as a whole has made around 2 billion dollars. The narrative of the game is the struggle between Assassins who fight for peace with free will and Templars who desire peace through order and control. Analyse the representation of gender in ‘the man’ and ‘riptide’ (30 marks) In both ‘The man’ and ‘Riptide’ women are represented sexually and objects for men to play with. This is shown to us in ‘the man’ when he is on the boat and he is surrounded by half naked females, and later on in the scene we are shown him leaving a room with a naked female in a bed which suggest to us that the women were only there for his sexual pleasure. This is similar to women in ‘Riptide’ where women are sexualised where in a scene a woman is being photographed from behind whilst taking off her bikini, which connotes that a man is watching her who could possibly have the intentions of sexually assaulting her. By sexualizing's women, it reinforces the idea of patriarchy. In ‘the man’ the male character is represented as a loving and caring father even though he has a lot of work to do.
